Accommodation on Safari

Some of the world’s most luxurious and stylish accommodation is found on the African continent.

With such diversity available, we take great care to provide a wide range of accommodation on safari, to suit every style, taste and budget. From the creature comforts of a solid bush lodge with en-suite facilities and a bath, to a tent pitched on the edge of the Serengeti, we are sure that there will be a safari here that that will satisfy every one of your clients - whether a novice or an old Africa hand. If you do not feel this is the case, then we will tailor-make one especially for them. On the whole, every safari offers a level of quality that will exceed the expectation of the most discerning visitor.

Most accommodation in the bush is based around a ‘site’ that has a fascinating history: an old hunting camp, a scout observation point, a salt lick or a colonial retreat. This means that they are always located in the most desirable spots, where the views are stunning or game-viewing excellent.
Tented Camps
Tented camps are designed to be small and intimate and can be found in a wide variety of styles, from simple to luxurious. All but the most basic camps are en-suite, exquisitely furnished and built consciously into or from the local surroundings. Tents are extremely spacious and totally protected from outside elements. Public areas are usually under canvas or thatch and meals taken al fresco around the campfire. This is always a favourite with guests, especially at night when eating under the stars. Some camps have a small plunge pool as well.
Fly-Camping Safaris
With an emphasis on expert guides, walking through game-rich wilderness areas and an extremely high degree of personal attention to detail, camping safaris are now an emerging market for wilderness enthusiasts. Food is always of a very good standard and tents are sophisticated, given the location and mode of travel. These trips are generally for ‘old Africa hands’, as nothing is routine and close encounters with game are the norm.
Lodges
Bush lodges tend to be larger more structured accommodation, where designs often take on the look and feel of their surroundings, with local artisans adding their talents to wall paintings, wood carvings and the general decor. Lodges provide accommodation where guest facilities often include spacious lounges, verandahs, bars, TV rooms, dining rooms, swimming pools, boutiques and evening entertainment. Rooms are similar to modern hotels and include all the creature comforts one would expect in the bush.

Tented Lodges
Having all the luxuries, characteristics and functions of a bush lodge, accommodation walls have simply been replaced by reinforced canvas. These tents are spacious, comfortable, en-suite and are protected against the outside elements and insects. A tented lodge is a great choice for clients who are unsure about the traditional tented experience.
