Cape Town and the Garden Route Self-Drive

Travelling by car around the Cape and Garden Route is a wonderful way to explore this region. The landscape is stunning and filled with delightful wine farms, golden beaches, quaint little towns, interesting reserves and a spectacular coast line. You could also climb Table Mountain or dive with great white sharks!

Safari Routing

01 Upon arrival into Cape Town, collect your hire car from the airport. The following three days are yours to explore the area.

04 Drive up the coast to Oudshoorn, perhaps visiting ostrich farms and the Cango Caves en route.

05 Continue through the Garden Route to the lovely seaside town of Knysna for two days of pure relaxation.

07 Drop the car off at George Airport or back at Cape Town Airport.

Johannesburg and the Waterberg Self-Drive

The Waterberg is steeped in history, culture and traditional beliefs of the different tribes who left their distinct mark on the area over the centuries. Spectacular forested valleys, stunning rivers and excellent wildlife also make this a destination worth visiting. This area has the advantage of being malaria-free. We recommend a few extra days here to explore further.

01 Upon arrival into Johannesburg, collect your hire car from the airport. The afternoon for your own arrangements.

02 Drive north to the spectacular Waterberg area for three days of game-viewing.
05 Drop the car off at Johannesburg Airport.

Wild Encounters in Kruger

Here, we have selected three styles of safari that all offer quality, charm and excellent guides while keeping the main focus on giving you the best wilderness experience. Open vehicle game drives, night drives and guided walks are the daily activities here.


Safari Routing

01 Upon arrival at Johannesburg Airport,transfer to your hotel. The afternoon is under your own arrangements.

02 Early morning transfer to the airport for the flight to the Timbavati area (flight cost excluded). Upon arrival, transfer to the lodge for two days of day and night game drives and walking safaris.

04 This morning, transfer by road to another wildlife area for two-nights with game-viewing activities.

06 Today you will transfer to the airport to connect with the flight back to Johannesburg (flight cost excluded).

Durban and Hluhluwe Explorer

01 Upon arrival at Durban Airport, transfer to your hotel for two days to explore the area and the beaches.


04 Today, transfer north to Hluhluwe where the next two days will be filled with game-viewing and exploring the area. Activities such as whale-watching, game drives, birding, boating and fishing are available.

05 Transfer back to Durban Airport for your onward arrangements.
