On Safari We operate one of the newest and most diverse fleets of safari vehicles in East Africa, so we are very proud to highlight that your clients will be travelling in First Class with us. Spacious interiors, comfortable seats and large roof hatches are the three elements that are critical on every game drive or transfer. Every vehicle now offers this as standard. To back up this modern fleet, we also maintain several large garages that are strategically located and every vehicle is thoroughly checked after every safari. Squeaky brakes and rattling windows are not what we like to experience on our safaris. On scheduled safari circuits, modern nine-seater safari cruisers are standard and only seven seats are used. This guarantees each guest a window seat and greater comfort. For scheduled trips that are a little more offbeat or tailor-made safaris, we operate a fleet of 4x4 vehicles at a small premium. These vehicles range from five to seven-seater 4x4s, capable of getting your clients to virtually any point in East Africa.
Baggage compartments are generally quite small and located at the rear of the vehicle. Guests should therefore carry a medium soft-sided bag plus one small piece of hand luggage. Most vehicles have a cooler box and a selection of wildlife books, though we recommend guests bring their own specialist books and binoculars. In Nairobi and Mombasa, our fleet also includes modern 17-seater buses for transfers and local excursions as well as 45-seater coaches for large Meetings, Incentive, Conference and Exhibition groups or airport transfers. For guests who require a private safari, vehicle and guide, please contact us to discuss the various options.
By Air Some safaris in this brochure include an element of flying, or are based on scheduled or charter flights. While flying between camps will increase the cost of the safari, the additional time relaxing, enjoying the lodge or game-viewing will outweigh the nominal price difference. The more esoteric bush camps generally require a charter flight to land on a small strip close to camp. These small flights are efficient, reliable and a romantic way to really feel as though you are on safari.
On flying safaris, we generally use the guides and 4x4 vehicles provided by the appropriate lodge or camp. These services are always of a high standard. Also, clients need to be made aware of the strict luggage restrictions on these flights, usually between 12kgs to 15kgs depending on the plane or country.
